We’re so happy to finally say that spring is just about here – we can feel it in the air! And you know what that means, spring cleaning is also here! Spring cleaning is probably the only cleaning we get excited about around here, because who doesn’t get excited about a fresh smelling, bright apartment that’s as ready for the warm weather as you are? If you need some tips on how to go about it, take a look at this list of spring cleaning tips for your rental apartment:
Get natural, citrus-scented cleaners
There’s nothing quite like that fresh, spring-time smell – fruits, flowers, you name it! It’s easy to keep your home smelling fresh all spring long, and the secret is starting your spring cleaning with all-natural, citrus-scented cleaners. Use them to wipe down your tables, windows, counters, appliances, bathtubs, showers, and anything else that needs a good clean. It’s seriously the easiest way to keep your place looking as clean as it smells!
Deep clean your floors!!!
We cannot even begin to express the importance of this one! Over the winter months, the floors in your home get built-up with dirty snow, dust, mud, and the list goes on. Even if they don’t look dirty to the naked eye, your floors deserve a deep, spring-time cleaning. Grab the mop, the vacuum, and a carpet steamer if you have carpets, and get to work! This will reduce the amount of cleaning you’ll have to do during the summer months.
Wipe down your windows
You’re going to want to give your windows a nice wash. Just like your floors, there is always a ton of buildup and residue that accumulates on your windows. So, all you have to do is take your natural-scented products (as stated above!) and give your windows a nice wipe. This will allow sun to shine through easily, and help your house feel cleaner from the inside, out.
Dust your baseboards, cabinets, woodwork
Next stop, cleaning the woodwork around your home! In addition to your floors and windows, your baseboards, cabinets and crown moulding get pretty filthy. A feather duster may do the trick here (we recommend getting one with an extendable handle), but you may also need to apply some cleaner, depending on how much dust there is. You won’t believe the difference a little dusting will make for your home!
Clean and rearrange furniture
Did you know that your furniture also needs a spring makeover? Take a vacuum to clean between the cushions of your couches and chairs, and then spray them with some natural, fabric freshener. And if you have any wooden furniture, give it a nice wipe. Now’s time for the fun part, move your furniture around for a fabulous, spring-time redecoration. There’s seriously no better time to do so!
