Spring is in the air and lots of fun events are on the horizon! Time to pull out your calendar and get organized, because there are many gatherings and activities available to choose from. You’ll probably want to round up a friend or two while you’re at it and share the experience. Here are five Brampton area events to look forward to this spring.
Shop For Crafts At The Spring Blooms Handmade Artisan Market
The Spring Blooms Handmade Artisan Market is on April 2nd and 3rd at the Bramalea City Centre. This should be first on your list if you like one of a kind, handcrafted items made by local and visiting artists. Shop for jewelry, personal care, home decor, toys—this is just the place to pick up a special treasure you can gift or keep for yourself. Admission are free and you can shop for any other spring essentials in the mall when you’re done!
Enjoy An Evening Of Music At The Rose Theatre
If you’re in the mood to take in a night of live music, The Rose Theatre has you covered. The performances they’re offering this spring run the gamut from perennial, old-time favourites to a popular local cover band. See the hills come alive at The Sound of Music, revisit a string of blockbuster hits at Any Dream Will Do: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, sing along with nostalgia-trippers Dwayne Gretzky, or watch Classic Albums Live: Billy Joel, The Stranger.
Take In A Comedy Show
We could all use a good laugh, that’s for sure, a night of letting loose and forgetting our worries. Why not kick off the spring with an evening out that is guaranteed to boost your spirits and have you in stitches? There are two great comedy events coming up at The Rose Theatre. Come see a lineup of talented comedians this April at Stand-Up Stitches or the Just For Laughs 2022 Roadshow.
Sample Some Sweet Treats At The 2022 Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival
Head for the hills—the Halton Hills, that is, and Terra Cotta Conservation Area where you can enjoy the 2022 Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival. Tour the maple syrup demonstrations to see how it’s all done, try some taffy, and enjoy pancakes with real maple syrup. You can also take a storybook walk with the little ones and learn from the park’s Indigenous partners. Make sure to visit the Park Store on your way out and take some delicious maple treats home with you. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
Appreciate Some Art
In the mood to see some fresh new art? The Pixel Digital Art Exhibit 2022: Black Artists Live Here is on this spring and it’s a great chance to enjoy a variety of forms of art, including illustration, animation, painting, and dance. The show highlights the work of eight local Black artists and creatives, and explores the intersections of identity, community, and technology. The works are displayed outdoors on the 24’ LED screen that sits high above Garden Square.
We hope this has inspired you to get out there this spring and start exploring some of the local cultural offerings that are available so close to home. Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow the Medallion blog for more great ways to be entertained this season.
