A hit with joggers and cyclists due to its many paths and scenic views of Lake Ontario, this natural wonder is a weekend must for anyone living in Ajax. If you’re looking for things to do in Ajax, exploring over seven kilometres of asphalt trail and enjoying picturesque sights at Ajax Waterfront Park is a great option!
Have Brunch at Angelique’s Family Restaurant
Angelique’s Family Restaurant really earns its title with its welcoming atmosphere and friendly service that have made it a local favourite. The eclectic diner-chic decor will make you feel at home and bring a feeling of nostalgia matched by the menu. The dishes served here don’t try to improve on classics and are all the better for it. Expect crispy bacon, golden home fries, and heaps of eggs however you like them. Portion sizes are generous and little ones will appreciate the familiar menu items. Visit Veterans’ Point Gardens
Another natural wonder, Veterans’ Point Gardens blends beauty with history. Built to commemorate Ajax’s involvement during WWII, the garden features clean lines set against Lake Ontario. There are many memorials that detail the HMS Ajax, a cruiser that served in the Royal Navy, as well as factory workers who contributed to the war effort. Reviews on Google describe the experience as a relaxing walk amongst beautiful surroundings with a history lesson thrown in! As a tip, we recommend packing a picnic to have a quick bite once you’ve enjoyed the sights.

You’ll be sure to fulfill whatever your shopping needs may be at Durham Centre, a sprawling, modern complex with all your favourite stores. Find home staples like HomeSense, Winners, and Canadian Tire, as well as great picks for the latest styles like Joe Fresh. Restaurants are also on offer once you’ve shopped ‘til you drop. We love Il Fornello for comforting Italian food, as well as The Keg for when you want a special night out. Make sure to add Durham Centre to your list of things to do in Ajax!
